Maybe you’ve heard that overnight success can happen to you, but the truth is, it’s not as easy as it seems. With an abundance of information and endless possibilities, getting clear on what you really want and how to create it will take some deep introspection. It will be difficult work, but the rewards could be even greater than you think. What if I don’t know what I want?
The first step to manifesting your dreams is to become aware of what you want. Even if you have a clear idea of what it is you want, there’s still an important part that you haven’t taken the time to figure out yet. Have you defined what success means to you? What emotions will your dreams trigger? How will they make you feel? Have you considered what would happen if you didn’t achieve your goals?
Stop and take a moment to reflect on these questions and consider whether you truly understand what you want. It might be that what you think is a dream isn’t exactly what you want after all.
What if I try, and it doesn’t work?
When you are working towards something that you believe in, there will almost certainly be some setbacks along the way. These are normal, and sometimes it can be hard to see past them. Remember that every setback can be an opportunity for growth. Try to look at your failures in a positive light. They can often teach you more than your successes, which can make you a better person in the long run.
For example, I used to write an article every single day. It took a lot of discipline, but it was something that I believed in so strongly that I wanted to make sure that I kept doing it. In the beginning, my goal was to write at least one article per week. Then, I upped it to two and then three. At first, this was incredibly easy to do. I spent about thirty minutes on each article and felt great about myself for getting them done.
Soon enough, though, it started to take more time. I was taking longer breaks between writing articles, and I wasn’t getting them done as often. By the time I hit my fourth article in a week, it had become a huge struggle for me to even sit down and start working on one.
Once I reached this point, I realized that I needed to stop trying to write so many articles in a week, or I would never get anything done. I recalibrated my goal to just once a week, and then I got to work. With the new system in place, I was able to finish all of my goals.
